Live streaming from mobile devices has personalized broadcasting — allowing anyone to generate video that is instantly shared with the world. iPhone apps such as Periscope, Facebook Live and Stringwire make live video broadcasting easy.
When live streaming in the field wireless connectivity is generally the only option. When live streaming indoors ethernet is a networking choice that provides the superior latency and reliability that is ideal for transmitting video streams.
It’s Easy to Connect iPhone to Ethernet and to Power!<\strong>
Until now it has been difficult to connect iPhone to ethernet. The new iPhone ethernet adapters from Redpark solve this problem. These adapters connect the iPhone to ethernet and to power — allowing the iPhone to live stream reliably without the battery draining.
Two versions of the ethernet adapter are available.
Redpark’s Gigabit + PoE Adapter connects iPhone to ethernet and uses power over ethernet (PoE) to charge the iPhone. This adapter allows both power and data to be delivered to the iPhone over a single ethernet cable over distances up to 300 ft.
The Gigabit + Power Adapter connects iPhone to ethernet and also charges the iPhone using an external AC adapter.
Use Ethernet for an iPhone Live Stream<\strong>
There is no need to depend upon Wi-Fi for an iPhone live stream. Improve broadcast quality by using ethernet.
Both of these adapters are licensed under Apple’s “Made for iPhone” (MFi) program and work with iPhones and iPads running iOS 10.0 (or later). They connect to 10/100/1000 networks and are available to be used by all iOS apps. They support communication at speeds up to 225 MBps — 100 times faster than the 2 Mbps data rate that is commonly viewed as the minimum throughput for high quality video streams.
